The fast diet the Plan 5 2
The fast diet, which is a hit in Britain and the United States for months, also known as the Plan 5: 2, arrives home.
The principle? Eat freely for 5 days and belt-tightening for 2 days.
Breast fast (Fast diet) diet
Michelle Harvie, nutritionist and Anthony Howell, professor of oncology, have followed a hundred of their obese patients Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Centre (Hospital of South Manchester) a conventional low calorie diet and one with a significant calorie restriction for two days alternating with five days of normal power.
Why? They wanted to see if these two days of drastic diet before chemotherapy, they would get better results in the treatment of breast cancer.
And then, surprise! They see only the two regimes, they arrive at almost the same results in both weight loss in biological parameters. And both schemes are equally effective as the other.
After the publication of this study, Michael Mosley, doctor and television producer, seizes and directed a documentary for the BBC under striking: Eat, Fast and Live Longer (Eating, fast and live longer), which is a box hearing. In the process, he published The fast diet and suites (menus, recipes, etc.) that sell like hotcakes. Last month, Michelle Harvie and Tony Howell published by Editions Michel Lafon two days of detox, five days of fun (subtitle: the global phenomenon).
Heres how a study on weight loss in order to avoid recurrence of breast cancer was changed to the new miracle diet, vintage 2013.
The Plan 5: 2, how it is organized?
Two days a week, not in a row, you just 500 calories (600 for men).
You eat only dairy products, lean meats and fish (50 g of protein per day), a few fruits and vegetables of course: at 30 calories per 100g on average, its actually not bad. Plus some walnuts, almonds or hazelnuts. You drink green tea, herbal tea and water.
The other five days, you eat "normally" but still not what you want.
If youre addicted to sugary products, pastries, sauces, greasy hamburgers, fries etc. it will not work. And if you rush on the wine bottle, it will not work at all either! Its highly recommended to adopt a Mediterranean diet: vegetables and fruits, fish often, cereals, olive oil. But if you want a piece of chocolate, ice cream, a cake is possible. Provided you do not binge.
But ... it is also essential to have a physical activity.
A half-hour walk or bike every day, including those pseudo fasting. This will increase your calorie expenditure: 150 walking, pedaling 250 for 30 minutes.
Are we losing weight fast? No
And that is good news! In the English study the origin of this Plan 5: 2, the weight loss is about 4 kg after 3 months.
And the subtitle of The Fast diet is the diet of fasting: the secret of fasting intermittently lose weight, stay healthy and live longer. What tempers the misleading title, but seller of the book. (Fast = fast!)
Plus you have many pounds to lose, the more you will adopt this method for a long time.
Should we adopt this Plan 5: 2?
Not without the advice of your doctor, anyway.
And only if youre really distressed (e) a large number of pounds. For he must have a good stock of fat to support two days belt keeping a normal activity.
Even if it is not a true fasting (where you only absorbs water), 500 calories a day - while you spend on average from 1800 to 2500 - can be a source of diverse and varied ailments.

Things Im Thinking About on Tuesday 2 25 2014

| If you need more fun in your life, I highly recommend getting a Mini! |
In December I promised to start sharing things I'm thinking about, and then in January I got distracted by Daily Phase One Recipes and now it's been two months since I've shared one of these posts. Happily it was a good two months with lots of holiday celebrating at Chez Kalyn, and the best present ever arrived on December 31 when I got my new Mini Cooper! I've never cared much about cars, and for years I loved my Toyotas, but when I moved I needed a car that could get up the hill in the snow. I picked the AWD Mini Cooper Countryman that's slightly bigger than the regular Mini (and thankfully not quite so low to the ground), and this is hands-down the most fun car I've ever owned! And I've had the personal license plate for a while, but I think it looks even better on this car. (If you live in Utah and are considering a Mini I had great service from Tyson Call at Mini of Murray. And I'm sure some of you are wondering, so just for the record, Tyson and Mini of Murray have no idea that I'm giving them a little shout-out here.)
