How to eliminate pounds holiday season
Of course, excesses are made during the holidays. But it is not to panic! A diet a little more under control, without sacrificing fun, and some tips guarantee you that from the first days of 2010 the footsteps of the excess will be gone.
Even if you "have paid attention," according to the usual formula, you have earned during these festive meals too much protein, too much fat, too much sugar and not enough complex carbohydrates or vitamins. You thus imposed on certain days at your gut a big job. Result: your balance presents the bill with a few pounds in bonuses!
Water, water, water
Drink rather lightly sparkling water. Their small bubbles give a nice clean feel and waters bring you beneficial minerals. you need good sleep to recover. Instead of coffee, take green tea, rich in antioxidants. Need it be said that sodas and sugary drinks of all kinds (even the lights) are to be eliminated? If you are addicted, it might be the right opportunity to detoxify you.
Orange pressed every morning
If you do not have one, invest in a juicer (manual). Make a big supply of orange juice. And when you wake up each day squeeze into one (it takes 1 minute) and drink the juice immediately. It is full of vitamin C. It will wake you up and you will feel the benefit during the day. If ever you are prone to urinary stones, it will protect.
Breakfast sandwiches
A bowl of tea or light coffee, wholemeal bread or cereal toast, lightly buttered and honeyed you chew slowly, yoghurt possibly with a teaspoon of honey, thats the breakfast that will allow you to take full morning. And consequently light lunch. Wholemeal bread or cereal because it is rich in complex carbohydrates and fiber. Butter because dry bread, its not really good. The honey for a sweet note and its benefits to the throat. Yogurt essential for calcium.
Cure soups
A homemade vegetable soup bowl every dinner. It wedge and then you just kind of a fish fillet (with a good lemon juice), or a slice of meat, a dairy and a fruit for the meal is complete, satisfying and light. It takes 20 minutes to prepare a soup, 15 if you use frozen vegetables Nature. Once the vegetables cut into small pieces and cooked with a little water in the pressure cooker (10 minutes), you crush them with the blender until the mixture is smooth and thick. Add salt only then. Alternate the vegetables, mix them, add a bunch of parsley end of cooking: the soup will be very rich in vitamins and minerals of all kinds. Expect 250 to 300 grams of vegetables per person. It is useless to melt butter. But you can add croutons and garlic toast and just fried with a little olive oil, a dash of milk, cheese, ranging from râpé.En impossible to tire of this basic dish (which has also become fashionable for some time). There is a good chance that everyone at home to taste and take this habit continues. Soup, its not very expensive. This is the best way to eat lots of vegetables and easy to please all ministers and health organizations that constantly try to convince you of their health benefits! Cooked fat, very thick, it is a food low in calories, so slimming. And if there is a microwave in the office, what is causing you to take one of the heat and make the most of your lunch?
Walk and eat slowly
Well, it can be a bit tiring but it feels good. No one can say otherwise. The benefits of walking are numerous: calorie expenditure, weight thighs, activating blood circulation, removing rust joints, lower cholesterol. Walk and eat slowly

Thus will travel on the satiety level in your brain. You will stop eating so spontaneously when it will occur. By increasing your energy expenditure with walking and eating no more above your caloric needs, inevitably you will lose weight.
Store the balance
After checking your weight on Jan. 2, then store your balance. Needless to weigh yourself every day with neurosis. Your jeans, your skirt or pants will suffice as indicators: they have not narrowed during this week. You will stop eating so spontaneously when it will occur. The Season Of Giving

Im starting to get asked more frequently now, "What diet are you on?"
My response of Im not on a diet is usually met with incredulous looks before the next question of "Oh, well what kind of exercise are you doing?"
I walk.
Yup, I have become a walker. Im like the Energizer Bunny – I just keep going, and going, and going...
Listen, a few short months ago, walking to the end of the drive was a big deal. I was morbidly obese and suffered from horrific edema. My feet and ankles didnt even resemble feet and ankles. My legs were like tree trunks. Finding shoes that fit properly was a challenge. Walking was not only difficult, but painful.
In addition to the other bzillion changes that have occurred since I began consuming raw, living foods, I feel (and look) like Ive been wrung out to dry. All that excess fluid my body was hanging onto is gone. Ohmygosh, I have ankles. Who knew?
So, yeah, I walk. And, I walk with gratitude each day. Because I can.

The routine the last few months has been to roll out of bed and hit the pavement. Ill typically walk anywhere from 3-5 miles each morning and another three miles each evening. I also enjoy spending time in the woods, so in addition to the daily routine, Ill take a nice long hike several times during the week.

I dont know what its like by you, but here, it feels like autumn lasted about a millisecond. Winter has arrived. Weve been hammered with snow the past couple of weeks. My walking partner Maya, the Siberian husky, thinks shes died and gone to heaven. Me? Not so much.
Its cold. Its dark outside. I have too much to do.
I know myself all too well and, trust me, the excuses will only increase now that the holiday season is upon us. So, I am enlisting your help to keep my walking on track.

You hear how the world is a mess
Every time you turn on the news,
But all countries could have happiness,
If theyd be walking a mile in each others shoes!

There are many ways we can give during the holidays without making a trip to the mall. The spirit of the season can best be expressed through the joy of caring and sharing. Sometimes when we are generous in small, barely detectable ways it can change someones life forever.

- Visit a nursing home and spend time with someone who doesnt get visitors.
- Volunteer a couple hours of your time at a local homeless shelter, crisis nursery or soup kitchen.
- Bake some holiday goodies and take them over to the fire station.
- Request one of the many “letters to Santa” that your post office receives at this time of year. Play Santa Claus and send something on the list in time for Christmas.
- Write a note of appreciation to your mailman.
- Cut coupons out and leave them at the grocery register for others.
- Send a card to someone in the military overseas.
- Shovel your elderly neighbor’s driveway or clean the snow off their car.
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

Rainier Cherries
Heres a short post to encourage you to run out and get your Rainier cherries while they are in season. You may have passed them in the grocery store and wondered what they are. And, you may have walked quickly past them after looking at their price tag. But these beauties are worth trying as they are the sweetest cherry Ive ever eaten!
Their price tag reflects how difficult it is to grow these beauties. They are extremely sensitive to heat, too much rain and gusts of wind. To add insult to injury, the birds eat about a third of the crop!
Born in 1952
This cherry was named after Mount Rainier and was developed by Harold Fogle in Washington State Universitys breeding program in 1952. But it wasnt available to the general public until eight years later. It is a cross between the Bing and the Van cherry.
Rainier cherries are beautifully colored in layers of gold with blush tones of pink and red. Washington state is the premier growing region because of its particular climate. But they also grow in other states such as Oregon, Idaho, Utah, New York and California. Some orchards are also found in Canada and Chile.
No Recipe Required
Im sure you can bake these into pies, or whip them into ice cream or smoothies, but the very best way to eat this delightful fruit is right out of the bowl!
1 cup of these sweet cherries provides:
87 calories
0.5 g total fat, 0 g saturated fat
Zero cholesterol
36 mg omega-3 and 37 mg omega-6 fatty acids
22 g carbohydrates
18 g sugar
3 g dietary fiber
1.5 g protein
16% RDA vitamin C
So get them while you can. They wont be around long.
